Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
Great idea - but I only see 2 concentric connectors... are they only for charging ?
UPDATE: yes, I see one that states it is only a charging cable, so is no benefit for flashing devices.

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
Robin,
there are other kind of magnetic cables with 4 connections.
I have some of them.

Your inventory doesn't fit into a glass jar any more, Aladdin !
The pictures of the magnetic 4 pin data cables don't appear to have any form of polarising key for the magnetic contacts, so are they 180 degrees reversible ?

Yes Robin,
The ones I have are reversible.
As usual cheap on eBay or Ali

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
The odd thing is, this isn't a faulty usb port, it works fully for other purposes e.g. accessing files from a phone. So something else is going on.

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
My mag things are circular with 5 pins and an outer ring, so you get the 4 connections at any angle.
The ones I have are these: Amazon: Magnetic Phone Charger, LAMA [3Pack 1m+1.5m+2m] Magnetic USB Cable 90 Degree 3 in 1 Charging Cables for Fast Charging and Data Sync Compatible Micro USB/Lightening/Type C Smartphones Red
One gadget I'm really glad I bought.

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
Yeah thanks Stuart.
I had already negotiated that minefield of different styles and ordered the 4 concentric circle type.
Hopefully anyway... if the cable ordered with type c head matches the set of 5pcs of micro usb heads I had to order elsewhere.
Sounds like you've got your Toolkit working now.
A useful tip for any devices you may still have problems flashing is to bypass the onboard uart (thus avoiding the need for its linux drivers), and use a tried and trusted separate uart connected to TX and RX - is not quite so convenient, but is reliable.

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
Toolkit V0.9 Beta working fine on my Windows 10 setup with one small issue :-
When I select 'Flash firmware + OTA + Data', the network parameters I enter in the pop-up are programmed to the ESP32 but the Timezone, OTA URL and Autorun are not - They are blank when I look at the ESP32 config.

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
Dear guys... I am so lost...
with the previous version I had 1.2 windows no issue. I
i launch my annextoolkit.exe put the last .bin version in the build folder.
i transfer to my ESP32 and done.
even the very last bin version worked perfect with my ili9488
Now I received my LilyGo epaper, so I need the multiplatform version to install the FW.
i read very carrefully this whole trend trying to do exactly what (I think) has to be done :
- downloaded the esp32 release 1.43.5
- unzip in a folder.
- then downloaded the Zulu...x64 and unpacked it in a directory called Annex
- then unzipping the annextoolkit.jar in the same Annex folder.
then starts the issue... in this Annex folder there is no win.bat
so i searched one in the upper folder where I have all the unpacked files from 1.43.5 zip
there is a win.bat, but when I launch it, nothing occurs.
so there is certainly something I don't understand and do well, if someone can tell me what exactly has to be done with all those files in order to use the last annextoolkit on windows, I would highly appreciate your time and patience.
thant you very very much to all in advance, and take care...

Re: Annex Toolkit multi platform beta version
In the page [Local Link Removed for Guests] you will see a link https://drive.google.com/uc?id=19iC8IkL ... t=download, which leads to download the version annextoolkit_release-0.9.tar.gz
Try to download this file, unzip it in a folder using 7-zip and there you will find the start file win.bat
This version already has everything you need, including the zulu packages.
