I don't have that specific screen but I have observed similar issues with other screens when powered via PC USB port.
They cannot handle the startup current.
Try with a good quality 5v supply and see if that makes any difference.

I bought a few more modules because they were very cheap for 6-7 EUR, the others work,
although everything looks the same,
