does the software run old programs made with the VGA version ( V1.7x ) and I can also use LVGL elements additionally ??

If you are interested I have a version to test for your module ... it should work with your display (and probably also for Starraker).

I have a development version but Is not yet ready; the support for your module is included but I don't know if it really work.
As it is a development version, the goal is just for testing as there are still some snags inside but this should be used to confirm the support for the ESP32-8048S043C.

I'll send you the link for the update

Francesco,

Have you had a chance to work out the wrinkles for the ESP32-8048S043C ?

No pressure just an inquiry.

Francesco,

OK. No problems.

I am busying myself with another project also based on the Esp32-S3. A frequency generator mated with an SI5351 and a small screen.

Still trying to understand the SI device and how it interacts with Skyworks software. Nevermind it keeps me busy.

Best wishes

Paul

OK, I have a new version ready for testing.
I'm sending the link to you and Ron.

This version should support the ESP32-8048S043C module; simply select it in the "Module" dropdown as shown in the image below:

Once selected, you do not need to configure the TFT or touch settings, as they are automatically set internally.
The SDCARD should work too.

Important : The touchscreen must be calibrated the first time you use it.

Please test this version and let me know your feedback. This update also includes additional features, which are described in the updated help file.

If anyone else is interested in testing, please let me know and I will send them the update link.

Francesco,

I went back into the Software Update Heading on the Forum Board and found OTA and learned that I had to save the update before starting the OTA (rookie error). However when I started, it started but then reported "not enough memory" so I turned off the SD card and updated the board which then revealed about 13Mb of Flash memory. I resaved the OTA link but it still reported not enough memory. I obviously am doing something wrong but I will persist and maybe I will figure it out. These are the two screen grabs before and after shots :
